Create a Learning Deliverable JIRA Ticket

The Learning Deliverables JIRA ticket type is used when learning material (Help Topic, Workbook, or eLearning Module) needs to be edited, discontinued, or new material needs to be created.

NOTES:

The Learning Deliverable ticket type shall not be used for Special Bulletin creation or reviews.

Tickets should be created for each deliverable to ensure the work can be tracked.

 

Follow the steps outlined below to create a Learning Deliverable JIRA ticket.

Navigate to JIRA.

Click Create.

The Create Issue window opens.

NOTE: Fields marked with a red asterisk * are mandatory and must be filled in.

 

Select Learning Deliverable as the Issue Type.


Create a title for the JIRA ticket in the Summary field.


In the Description, describe what Learning Deliverable is required and any background information on the topic. Information from a related JIRA ticket may be copied to this section if applicable.


Leave the Assignee field blank unless you know which Learning Team member will be working on this material. The ticket will be assigned to the appropriate resource once created.

Select the appropriate Design Team from the drop-down menu. The Design Team will normally be the one responsible for the functionality that the learning deliverable relates to.

Select the applicable Learning Deliverable from the drop-down menu.

 

NOTE: A new ticket is required for each learning deliverable.  For example: if two help topics need to be updated, create two separate tickets for each of these requests. You can select TBD if you’re not sure of the type of deliverable that is appropriate.

 

Fill out the Requestor Name and Requestor Team fields.

Indicate whether this is a request for new content, edit to existing content, or removal of existing content from the Course Request Category drop-down field.


Fill out the Education Requirements for the Learning Deliverable being requested.

The following fields should be filled in with as much detail as possible to ensure that the content being created or edited is correct.

LEGEND

Existing Topic Name

If this is an edit to an existing help topic on CST Cerner Help, fill in the title of the existing help topic.

Suggested Topic Name

If this is a request for a new help topic, fill in the suggested title for the new help topic.

Existing Topic URL (applies to changes or removals only)

If this is a request to edit or remove an existing help topic, copy and paste the link of the help topic on CST Cerner Help in this field.

Splash Pages

Indicate which splash page(s) the help topic should be posted on. Please include all splash pages to help identify the audiences for the topic. This needs to be completed for new topics but is optional for edit or remove requests.

Navigation Directions

Indicate where this help topic should be filed under (e.g., Orders, Documentation, iView, CareCompass, etc.) or how the end-user should find this help topic.

Relevant CST Cerner Applications

Indicate all relevant CST Cerner Applications or views included in this help topic (e.g., FirstNet, CareCompass, Message Centre, Patient Lists, etc.). Please remember that the Patient Chart is not the same as PowerChart.

Audience/Roles

Indicate who the target audience(s) is for this help topic (e.g., Nurses, Clerks, Providers, etc.).

 

New topics need to be analyzed and approved by the CST Cerner Help team before creating the new content to avoid duplicate content. Once the ticket has been analyzed,

The following fields should be filled in with as much detail as possible to analyze the requirements. A learning lead will review the request and assign an eLearning Specialist who will work with others to complete the requirements.

List of Learning Objectives (for New eLearning Modules Request)

List the learning objectives the learner should obtain by completing the eLearning module.

Target Course Duration

Indicate how long the course should take the learner to complete.

Relevant CST Cerner Applications

List all relevant CST Cerner Applications to be included in the eLearning module.

Audience/Roles

Indicate who the target audience is for this e-learning module (e.g., Nurses, Clerks, Providers, etc.).

Is the content of this module already covered in classroom materials?

Indicate whether or not this content is already covered in classroom materials (e.g., workbooks).

 

WorkbooksWorkbooks

The following fields should be filled in with as much detail as possible to ensure that the content being created or edited is correct.

LEGEND

Relevant CST Cerner Applications

List all relevant CST Cerner Applications to be included in the workbook.

Audience/Roles

Indicate who the target audience is for this workbook (e.g., Nurses, Clerks, Providers, etc.).

List of Learning Objectives (for New Workbook Requests)

List the learning objectives the learner should obtain by completing the workbook.

Other Comments

List any other relevant comments in this field.

 

 

Complete the Other Required Resources table that specifies the team members who will be working on the Learning Deliverable, if known.

CST Cerner Help

Complete the information and identify the Learning Specialist, SMEs, or specify the name and email address for the person who needs to validate the topic after the topic is published.

 

Indicate the Priority.

 

The Priority may be changed by the Learning Team.

Select one of the two options for the Target Date.

CST Cerner Help

Target Date

Select The material need to be published on a specific date when the new topic needs to be released the same day or on a specific future date to coincide with a release or implementation activities. Enter the specific Due Date.

Select The material can be published on any date when there is no need to delay or coordinate the publication with other activities.

 

Enter a Due Date if one is known.

Attach relevant documents.

CST Cerner Help:

Edit Requests

Copy and paste the content on CST Cerner Help into the CST Cerner Help Template and then turn on Track Changes and make the required changes.

Save the file with the topic name and attach to document here.

New requests

The new topic draft is only attached after the new topic has been approved.

 

Click Create.

Link any applicable JIRA tickets to this ticket for reference.

After the ticket has been created, the Learning Team will triage the ticket and assign it to the appropriate resource (e.g., Learning Specialist, eLearning Specialist, BA, etc.).
