Check Out Patient from Ambulatory Organizer (Renal)

At adult sites, in order to remove a patient from the Tracking Shell Now Running filter, the patient will need to be checked out from Ambulatory Organizer.

Note BC Children’s Hospital (BCH) does not use the Tracking Shell. Therefore, patients will need to be checked out from the Ambulatory Organizer to remove them from the specific location.

NOTE: In order for you to check out patients from the Ambulatory Organizer, your position requires to have Reg/Sched (e.g., Position: Ambulatory Nurse with Reg/Sched).

Navigate to Ambulatory Organizer on the toolbar.

Select the Date and Clinic Resource.

Locate the Patient.

Click to open the action options and select Check-out in the Status column.

Steps 5 – 8 are for adult sites only. For BCH site, skip to Step 9.

Select the Update patient tracking radio button under Tracking Location.

Click the down arrow in the location field, and select the appropriate Check out option from the drop-down menu (e.g., SPH HD ChkOut)

WARNING: Ensure that you select the appropriate checkout from the drop-down options. If the wrong selection is made your patient will display at the wrong location

Click OK.

In Ambulatory Organizer, you can view that the patient is checked out.

The Checked Out status will display in the status column next to the patient’s name.

Once the patient is checked out in Ambulatory Organizer, the patient’s location is updated.

Review the Tracking Shell to confirm the patient has dropped off from the tracking list with the Now Running filter.

For BCH site, click Ok in Check Out window and Checked Out status will display in status column next to patient’s name in Ambulatory Organizer.
