Note Type Distribution – Excelleris/CareConnect/AccessMyHealth

Dynamic documents and notes created using specific Note Types will automatically distribute document copies to CareConnect and Excelleris and become visible within the AccessMyHealth patient portal once signed. This distribution occurs regardless of patient setting (e.g. Outpatient, Emergency, Inpatient). Distributing documents will also automatically send copies to the author, primary care provider, and referring provider.

Please refer to the table below to identify which note types distribute to CareConnect or Excelleris vs. which are visible within the AccessMyHealth portal vs. which note types are internal to CST Cerner only. The table also includes information on which note types are viewable in the AccessMyHealth Portal.

The document types indicated with an “*” do not support automatic distribution to Author, Primary Care Provider and Referring. To send a copy of this note, please manually add the CC recipient(s). This note will only distribute to the manually added CC recipients. These notes do not go to CareConnect.

IMPORTANT: Excelleris is a provincial electronic health record used by providers. When a distributing document sends a document copy to the author, it does this via Excelleris. Since Nurses and Allied clinicians do not have Excelleris accounts, any attempts to send document copies to a Nurse or Allied Health clinician that creates a report will fail and instead send an error message to Transcription Services. In order to prevent these error messages, Nurses and Allied Health clinicians ensure to add Provider, Do Not Copy Author as a carbon copy by selecting the Review/CC radio button within the Sign/Submit Note window whenever they create a Dynamic Document using a distributing note type. See Stop Automatic Distribution via Excelleris (Providers, Allied Health, Nursing)
