Name Alert |
Rationale: In Cerner, duplicate names are italicized by the system automatically as a visual name alert indicator. However, in maternity units, the babies and mothers share the same last names, making all names italicized. This invalidates the name alert visual indicator. Nurses can use the Name Alert icon to indicate a genuine name alert for their adult patients. Manual entry: right-click on Communication column and select Name Alert. |
